As a gamer of more than 20 years, I’m always excited to celebrate National Video Game Day!
This year, Video Game Day takes place on September 12 (I’ll be celebrating at Long Beach Comic Con!) and it’s a great day to enjoy your favorite games. Gaming has had such a prolific impact on my life — it helped me develop a variety of life skills like map reading and problem solving, helped me through some hard times, and continues to bring me hours of enjoyment — so, I know how inciting it is to dive into those worlds for real.
Luckily, the folks at Home Away have found some incredible destinations that will give gamers a case of wanderlust — and maybe a case of nostalgia!
Hell yeah that’s a barrel — well, technically it’s an 1,000 gallon wine drum to be exact. Don’t worry, if the wine drum isn’t your style, the destination also includes a house that sleeps six.
Halo 5: Guardians
This futuristic condo in Toronto, Canada — which includes a design kitchen and access to two swimming pools — is so cool, it might just be where Master Chief is hiding.
There aren’t any colored ghosts (probably) in the hedge maze that accompanies this four-bedroom farmhouse in New Zealand, but you can still challenge your friends to fruit gathering.
Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate
Travel to the land of the Frye’s to stay in this amazing Victorian-era townhouse. Beware of Templar’s, though.
Hit the slopes, not the ceiling in a boxy ski chalet in Atla, Utah. If you’re really jonesing for Tetris though, you can play a few games while relaxing in the private hot tub.
It’s a bit of a journey, but this two-bedroom villa in Lefkara, Cyprus looks like it’s straight out of Minecraft.
Candy Crush Soda Saga
How adorable is this cottage in Martha’s Vineyard? It looks like something children would want to eat!
